In 2007 over 700 young people took to the road – the ZEROSEVEN Roadtrip made history when it created the public support and political will to increase foreign aid from 0.3% to 0.5% of GNI by 2015. This historic increase of over $4billion brought Australia closer to its promise of 0.7%. But it’s not enough, and we have unfinished business…

In May 2010 over 1000 young people from across the nation are road tripping to Canberra to MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY. These specially selected Ambassadors will build a movement of everyday Australians in over 100 cities and towns across the country.

These Ambassadors will do whatever it takes to raise awareness and understanding of global poverty. Through flash mobs, meetings with MPs, speeches at schools, meetings and with businesses we will generate the groundswell of support necessary to achieve real change.

Every road trip will come together in Canberra on the 12th – 14th of May. This summit will bring together a generation of young people who know that a world with extreme poverty should not exist, uniting us in a call to action for individuals, communities and governments to do more to create the world we all want to live in.
