Max Mikulak died August 31, 2008 at age 7 from neuroblastoma, a difficult-to-treat pediatric cancer. None of the drugs available to Max during his treatment are proven to work against neuroblastoma. Max's Ring of Fire supports the work of Dr. Giselle Sholler at The University of Vermont Cancer Center. Dr. Sholler works tirelessly to find drugs which may someday cure children of this deadly disease.
