In the past year Natalie has been Series Director on two new comedy series, Heading Out (BBC2) and Quick Cuts (BBC4). She has also directed two episodes of the award winning fourth series of The Thick of It (BBC2) and the critically acclaimed Edinburgh shows - Joseph Morpurgo's: Truthmouth and Hennessy and Friends: A History of Violence.
Natalie began her career as an actress in Australia, where she then went on to write, direct and edit short films. She has received production funding as a Writer and Director from SBS TV, WIFT and the Pacific Film and Television Commission (Australia). Her short 16mm film, Exit, was in competition at the Melbourne International Film Festival where it was screened as the short before Werner Herzog's film My Best Fiend. Joining the BBC Comedy Department in 2002, Natalie branched into television production working for French & Saunders and Armando Iannucci's infamous Slap Unit. It was there she developed a career as both a Director and Producer for terrestrial, digital and online platforms.
As a Director, Natalie is an inspiring force of nature, displaying a warmth and trust that encourages both cast and crew to offer up the best of their abilities and beyond. She approaches each new project with a fresh, creative vision and relishes the process of bringing a script to life. Together with the writers and actors, Natalie often uses workshopping techniques to work towards strengthening the characters, relationships and dialogue of each project.
Natalie is currently in production with series three of Pramface and in development with several film and television projects in the UK and Australia.
