I am a feminist filmmaker and media activist living in Portland, OR. I was a member of the Sprockettes, the world's first mini-bike dance team, for 3 years. I retired from the group in the fall of 2007 to direct my film about the group, Small Movements. Since graduating in 2004 from Hampshire College with a BA in film and cultural studies, I have worked as a traveling nanny for a punk band, a bike rickshaw driver, a cook in a lunch cart, and a bored office temp. My senior thesis project, The News Is What We Make It, won the Media Reform Award, sponsored by Utne Magazine, at the 2005 Media That Matters film festival. Today I am serving as an Americorps VISTA at Portland Community Media with the OLLIE Youth Media program. I spend my free time riding bikes, baking cakes, sewing, and making new films.
