The Norwalk Youth Symphony provides training, practice, and performance opportunities to young musicians in the 4th - 12th grades.
Founded in 1956, NYS is one of the oldest and continuous youth orchestra programs in the U.S., and was the first to program repertoire works in their original form.
Our core program consists of 5 tiered orchestras, ranging from an entry-level string orchestra to full symphony orchestras performing advanced literature.
NYS also has specialty programs, such as wind and percussion ensembles and chamber music groups, that provide additional training and performance opportunites to interested students.
