Nuno Barbosa Plus
When I was a kid I liked to draw a lot... so I choosed for Art & Design at high Scholl.
I also loved movies and my dream was to have a video camera, but it was too expensive that time... so instead of filming, I used to draw a lot of flip book animations.
My other passion is music... I've played guitar in a couple of rock bands. At university I had to choose between the guitar or the pencil... I choosed the pencil...
I graduated in Graphic Design and then worked as a graphic designer for about 6 years.
In 2006 I finally get my hands on a video camera and started to work with video and animation. I've been working as director/ motion designer/ director of photography in a Portuguese studio called Dreamlab. In the betweens I've also made about 40 soundtracks for the videos, which was great...I was able to make some use of my musical background.
In 2008 I went back to university to study Master of Multimedia Communication. My master thesis was about virtual scenography 2.5d that I created for this web series that I also co-directed: vimeo.com/13111533
This work that i'm showing on Vimeo are my independent work as a freelancer, that are mostly music videos. With these projects I have the opportunity to join together both passions: music and film. Music videos are also a great platform to do experimentation, a lot of new visual concepts are emerging from music videos...
