Nuoli is a Stockholm based musician and producer who works hard for the conceptof her music to be a political slap in the face against inequality. Her music's always been a way ofexpressing a frustration towards political and social issues. Therefore her songs often cover topics andfight against such things as the violence and sexism towards woman, the racism in our society and the harassment towards people who don't identify themselves as heterosexual or the two stereotype genders, male and female.
Nuoli performed at Nybrokajen on the International Women’s Day in 2011, a performance that laterbecame a documentary of upcoming Swedish female musicians, produced by Swedish television.Besides that she’s been the opening act for Peter Morén and Trummor&Orgel in 2012 and won several scholarships for her music.
Influenced by musicians such as the Doors, Kate Bush and the contemporary Dream Koala and FKA Twigs, Nuoli has developed a very dramatic, honest style where she let the audience personally get to know her music and the lyrics.
Her latest single A Girl Is A Gun, tagged as feminism, got a lot of good critic from international blogs. According to the UK music blog Dots and Dashes, the song figure as a reaction against The Weekend’s latest (direct quote; particulary hideos) music video Pretty, where he brutally murders his former girlfriend. They also describe Nuoli inviting her target “lay your crotch in my bed, put your foot upon my head” with the latently aggressive relish of a cultured femme fatale.
The winter of 2014 Nuoli will release her first EP.
