An award winning documentary, aired by PBS Independent Lens in the USA, finally gives voice to America's forgotten children.
When the Subic Bay Naval Base closed in 1992, many children born to Filipino mothers and US servicemen were left behind. Left by The Ship tells the stories of four of these Amerasians. Following two years in their lives, the film gives an intimate look at how Filipino Amerasians live today, battling against discrimination and family problems, while struggling to find an identity of their own.
