Jake Gevorgian
I was raised in a family where my father, a graduate of civil engineering, owned a wooden door and window company. The very company where I spent my childhood school breaks and some weekends, sitting in my pops office or working at the workshop. I remember making birdhouses with plywood, that was intended for making of wooden crates.
Later on my father an I opened a kitchen and bath cabinetry manufacturing site in Los Angeles. And with that said, we're in the same business.
In year 2008 I saw a video of an old man, making spindles and posts with an old lathe. Frankly, I've back then I just had a vague idea about woodturning. But the way he turned the wood; creating something valuable out of piece of unfinished log; brought interest to me. Couple of months later I purchased my first lathe (and the current) from a woodturner's son.
Then slowly, but steadily, kept working and creating anything that was possible.
