I'm the pastor at Wilkes Blvd United Methodist Church at the corner of Wilkes & 7th in Columbia, Missouri - where Hope Happens. It's a congregation experiencing resurrection which makes for a wild ride. We really try to love God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength and love our neighbors as ourselves. Breakfast and discussion groups start us off Sunday mornings at 9:30 am. We worship at 10:45.
We host Loaves & Fishes, a free community meal every night at 5 pm. In February we'll begin hosting the Columbia Interfaith Resource Center, a day-time, drop-in resource center for neighbors experiencing homelessness. There are recovery groups that meet Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, and Saturday mornings. A group meets to sing old time Gospel music on the 1st and 3rd Thursday afternoons at 1:30 pm. Prayer groups meet Monday mornings at 8:30 am and Friday afternoons at 12:30 pm.
If you're not a fan of Christians but want to try following Christ - we're the place for you. Warning: If you have assumptions about what church should or shouldn't be - we'll probably shatter them. No matter who you are or what you've done, we'd be honored to have you join us.
