I'm the pastor at Wilkes Blvd United Methodist Church at the corner of Wilkes & 7th in Columbia, Missouri - where Hope Happens. It's a congregation experiencing resurrection which makes for a wild ride. We really try to love God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength and love our neighbors as ourselves. Breakfast is served Sunday mornings at 10:00 am. We worship at 10:45.
We host Loaves & Fishes, a free community meal every night at 5 pm. Turning Point offers showers, laundry a mailing address and support to neighbors experiencing homelessness. There are recovery groups that meet Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings, and Saturday mornings. A group meets to sing old time Gospel music on the 1st and 3rd Thursday afternoons at 1:30 pm. A prayer group meets Friday mornings at 10:00 am and our Gospel Art program is Wednesday evening at 5:30 pm.
If you're not a fan of Christians but want to try following Christ - we're the place for you. Warning: If you have assumptions about what church should or shouldn't be - we'll probably shatter them. No matter who you are or what you've done, we'd be honored to have you join us.
