I live and work in St. Paul MN and Knife River, MN. I paint, photograph, and film figurative and water-related themes. Lizards and Waters of Superior represent me in Duluth, and The Grand Hand represents my paintings and my candy in St. Paul, MN. I am twice a McKnight Artist Award recipient and I have painted at Yaddo, McDowell, Headlands Center for the Arts, I-Park and more!
I teach Media Arts, Global Film Studies, Documentary Filmmaking at an urban high school in St. Paul. In Knife River, Frank Sander is doing a brilliant job of designing and making a studio and housing space. I also am a partner in the candy store next door to the Knife River Studio, its called Great!Lakes Candy Kitchen. My sister is a third generation candymaker and I help dip the chocolates, design, and work in the store. greatlakescandy.com. Visit the studio and the store when you are on the North Shore Drive. I am on the scenic highway in Knife River, 12 miles north of Duluth on highway 61.
