Pete Grossman's been in the movie business, worked in music and TV, ventured into fashion and landed on the Internet where he rode the bubble and lived to tell about it. Between it all he stepped on Robert Redford's foot, pulled Linda Evans out of a bathroom stall, and, while working on "The Verdict" almost chucked out the prototype for what would come to represent a $250,000,000+ charity – the original penciled illustration of Paul Newman’s portrait Pete thought was a fan's rendering that the star wanted to trash. (This occurred right before Newman announced he was starting up Newman's Own which only a handful of people knew about.)
While working for Martin Scorsese on The King of Comedy, Robert Di Niro called for Marty. Pete answered the phone and wouldn't let him through until De Niro fully identified himself - and Pete has the bullet scar to prove it. (The bullet thing isn't true, but he did get an earful.) Pete has a similar story about Michael Jackson when he worked for Dustin Hoffman.
Dabbling in sports too, Pete worked for hockey great Phil Esposito and is the co-author of The Everything Golf Book. His current book proposal, "Courage And Tradition" comprises a series of business parables. Think Monty Python meets Stephen Covey.
On several occasions Pete performed stand-up in New York, but his foray into parody began with a bang when he briefly stepped into the spotlight on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. While waiting on line to be an audience member Pete wrote a wild, silly tale about his prom experience which never actually occurred called "Karate Prom." The story kicked off an entire segment of the program.
Pete studied writing with Danny Simon, the mentor of Neil Simon and Woody Allen. In his career, Pete has worked for MTV, VH-1, Nickelodeon, Warner Bros., Liz Claiborne, AT&T, Swatch and lots of other mega-mondo brands. Today, he is the Senior Copywriter for MindSpark, (one of the companies under the umbrella of Barry Diller) where he writes scripts for My Fun Cards, the company's eCard product and provides voices for cards, as well as voices for smileys at SmileyCentral. Pete also works with an incredibly talented team conceptualizing ads for the company's entire line of products including the virtual world, Zwinky, and the company's other fun, life enriching products Zwinky Cuties, IWON, Kazulah, Popular Screensavers, Cursormania, plus the hugely successful social networking graphics phenomena, Webfetti. Pete's work has recorded over one billion click-throughs worth millions of dollars in conversions.
