I make movies, mix video, and shoot weddings on the beach in Mexico. It's a good life!

Yes I've been experimenting with special processing for Vimeo and the web. It seems that anything from 85% black and up gets crushed to 100% black. Try taking the gamma down to .8 when you output. Compression programs usually hve it as an option. This will also help compensate for PC gammas and crappy-ass old tube monitors.

The layering was done on a giant optical machine we had at film school in the early 80s. It was a giant "Wow" to be able to do any kind of effects like this and it took all day. I was way psyched at the time.
