Michael left Oxford University in 2007, having directed short films and theatre, but soon realised he preferred and was better at being a creative producer. He is currently Production Co-ordinator at B3 Media, working under Exec Producer Marc Boothe, managing the production components of its programmes such as Blank Slate, FeatureLab, TalentLab and CINEAST.
He is also an independent producer, having produced 12 award winning shorts through his company Pico Pictures over the past three years, including four for the UK Film Council, one for BBC HD and one for BBC Writersroom. He has two feature films in development with the UK screen agencies EM Media, Creative England and Northern Ireland Screen.

Career highlights so far have been:

Being selected for the prestigious UK mentoring programme Guiding Lights in 2011, and getting the mentor Mark Herbert, chief executive of Warp Films
Participating on the Berlinale Talent Campus in 2011
The Beachcombers winning the ITV/Film London Best of Boroughs viewers’ choice award in 2008
Whore winning the Grand Prix du Jury for European Short Film at Angers Premiers Plans, and Best Short Film at East End Film Festival, in 2010
My Dad the Communist winning the Short Film Audience Award at East End Film Festival, 2010
Judi Dench starring in her first ever short film, Friend Request Pending, selected for London Film Festival 201
Having three of my short films (Friend Request Pending, Skateboards and Spandex, The Send Off) all selected for London Short Film Festival 2012
My 2 minute comedy short School Portrait going viral in December 2011, hitting one million views in two weeks and getting substantial press attention including the Evening Standard, the Metro and the Huffington Post.
Being featured as the Producer to Watch in Moviescope Magazine (#26, Jan/Feb 2012).
