plektrumfestival
Plektrum is a festival that takes place once a year in September and October in Tallinn, the capitalof the Northern European small country Estonia. The festival lasts for 10 days and its goal
is to
present and render meaning to the confluences of people, technology and contemporary culture.
PLEKTRUM’S FIELDS OF ACTIVITY INCLUDE:
TECHNOLOGY, ART, MUSIC AND EDUCATION.
Plektrum is not interested in tech but in the interdisciplinary processes between the fields
mentioned and in the social use of technology. This is why Plektrum creates unique experiences,
reflecting the world-view of a contemporary individual, which combines the processes between
technology and different areas of culture.
Plektrum Festival was founded in 2006 on the
initiative of a group of young creative intellectuals interested in music and art. By now, Plektrum has developed into a multidisciplinary international festival that is included in the events of Tallinn 2011 European Capital of Culture.
Plektrum 2009 will be held from 24th September - 4th October with the theme "Where is Virtuality?" For festival program and performers see plektrumfestival.ee
