If you'd like to share your videos from a high-definition camcorder online, there aren't a lot of options. The Web's most popular video site, YouTube, shows videos in standard definition, and usually in lower resolution than I would like. Not so at lesser-known competitor Vimeo, which has some big advantages over YouTube and other video sites.

The site is excellent at keeping you posted on the progress of uploading. You can also designate your video as private, so random people won't chance upon it.
