Director: Aaron Kheriaty, MD
The Forum is dedicated to recognizing, appreciating, and exploring the connection between patients’ mental health and their spiritual, religious, philosophical, and moral convictions. We view human beings as oriented toward transcendent meaning and purpose, and fulfilled through relationships of self-giving love. We recognize that human health and flourishing require growth in freedom, and the acquisition of virtues.
Our activities combine scientifically advanced psychiatric research and treatment with serious attention to the role of spirituality and religion in mental health. Our clinical services meet the needs of religious believers who suffer from mental illness. Alongside physicians and researchers, clergy and scholars from several faith traditions participate in the project.
