Rachel I. Johnson
Rachel I. Johnson, born and raised in Brooklyn, New York is a graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. At NYU, she wrote and directed many short films, earned various scholarships and awards for her work, and further developed her craft of filmmaking. Her work has been exhibited in film festivals and showcases, and she has received many awards for her work including Top prize at the NYU New Visions and Voices Intermediate Film Festival for Excellence in Directing for her film "The Dream Team." Johnson directed her thesis film "White Sugar in a Black Pot" with the assistance of the Warner Bros. Film Award and the George A. Heinemann Film Production Award. Her thesis film received a CINE Golden Eagle Award in 2011 and the film is currently traveling the film festival circuit. Johnson is grateful for the exceptional love, support, and guidance she receives, and will continue to write and direct poignant films.
