Director, cinematographer and broadcast multimedia journalist, Ramón J. Goñi has worked since 2005 in the US, UK, France and Spain primarily for BBC News, but also for several other international media outlets. A Law and Political Science graduate, he also holds a masters degree in International Relations from the prestigious Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po).

After almost a decade of intensive work with words, he felt the need to leap into a purely visual and more universal language: Film direction and cinematography. In addition to his own projects, he collaborates regularly with internationally acclaimed photographers such as Jason Bell (UK), François Rousseau (France) and Arnaldo Anaya (US).

However, he does not consider himself strictly a journalist nor a filmmaker.

'Labels are for cat food cans. I am a storytelling vehicle for other people, for creative people of all sorts. Fashion designers, artists, musicians... and people with a story crying to be told. They are all in need of translating their lives and their craft into motion pictures. That's what I do'.

'So I have a meticulous devotion to the surface; can you blame me? I like beauty. But I also happen to be a storyteller. After capturing the taste level, I am going for the heart'.

Ramón J. Goñi lives and works in New York. Joining forces with artist and doll maker Andrew Yang he launched Swoon NYC, a platform for filmmakers and creatives of all disciplines.

His recent art work, Swoon Éphémère, will be showcased this year in international film festivals and museum exhibitions such as 'MODE_BILD 1980-2010' Kunstbibliothek | Kulturforum Potsdamer Platz BERLIN (2011) and 'AGITE Y SIRVA' Touring Videodance Festival | MEXICO (2011).
