Andrew Ramsammy was born and bred in New York City and began his creative career as a theater actor and student at the world-renowned ‘High School for the Performing Arts (FAME)’. It was while he was there that he was introduced to film and television and began applying his knowledge of acting. Noticed for his shooting style and direction and beginning at an early age his work has been featured on ABC, CNN’s Showbiz Today, Lincoln Center, The Joan Rivers Show, A&E’s Biography series and the award winning documentary AFTER CLASS: THE MUSICAL. Upon his departure from high school he was immediately accepted to the School of Visual Arts where he majored in cinematography and graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in film, having shot his first feature film as director of photography on DEEP SIX with writer/director Michael Wolk (Innocent Blood), which won several independent film awards.
Today, Andrew is an Emmy Award winning producer and director and is head of his own creative boutique, Rockhopper Creative, where he serves as its creative director for broadcast and corporate clients that include American Express, Paramount Pictures, Dell Inc. and NBC.
