We are avid hikers from Toronto, Canada who just love Hawaii ... and love to hike Hawaii. We have completed 31 hikes on Oahu, Maui and Kauai during the past 5 years (together or solo). We avoid Waikiki for the most part now, use the excellent public transit system extensively, support local small business / galleries and eateries ... and of course hiking is tops on our agenda (as well as photography). We admire the breathtaking views from the ridges and of the valleys, appreciate and respect those who work hard to clear, maintain and document the trails, and leave only our footprints behind.

This is our Hawaii hiking specific post, and the videos that follow are of the hikes documented with the awesome GoPro Hero HD head cam (2010 - 2011) as well as previously restored and enhanced HD videos from our hikes completed 2008 - 2009.

Some of these hikes I deemed to be "extreme" due to experience, danger / difficulty, exposure, weather and trail conditions, etc.

Each hike is a challenge, an adventure and memorable experience, and documented extensively as such in these videos. PLEASE READ AND HEED THE DISCLAIMER ON THIS OR ANY OTHER HIKING BLOG / POST.

Last but not least ... RESPECT THE LAND ... stay on the trails, don't litter (in fact if you come across any and are able ... take it out with you). Do not unneccessarily disturb the flora or sites that may be considered sacred / culturally sensitive (again .. do your homework), wash / brush your boots upon completion of the hike, and DO NOT intentionally tumble any loose rocks / boulders from ridges as there may be hikers / hunters on trails below or houses that you are unaware of !! Be a SAFE, CONSIDERATE and RESPONSIBLE hiker. Enjoy and bask in the privilege of being able to hike some of the most beautiful and unique trails in the world ... you'll be rewarded ... and get addicted ;-)
