Theo Majendie
I’m a digital 3D animator and modeler with over 5 years experience in character, VFX and stereoscopic animation. My experience includes working as animator and modeler in the BBC postproduction team on the BBC TV series ‘Spirit Warriors’, lead animator and motion tracking animator for Renegade Arts Entertainment, lead animator for a series of O2 web adverts, lead games and augmented reality animator at Inition and lead stereoscopic animator for Gillette’s ‘Proglide’ adverts for 3D cinema.
I am well versed in creating realistic character movement and body mechanics and have a natural flair for facial animation as well as squash and stretch for creating believable weight. I also have a great deal of experience modeling and texturing environments and characters for games as well as creating custom controls, rigs, skin weight painting and facial morphing to produce unique characters. I have been working with Maya, 3Ds Max and Motion Builder for over 6 years and have a great deal of in-depth knowledge of the softwares and their many applications. I studied character animation and 3D art at university and having owned my own Maya licence for many years I possess many techniques for speedily creating detailed animations and solving problems. It is these skills that I have brought to the many production teams I have worked with over the years and allows me to keep positive and organised when working to a tight deadline. My knowledge of many postproduction areas, including modelling, rigging, lighting, rendering and compositing also mean I am able to work well with other team members and also to predict and solve problems before they happen.
I work well under direction and am able to interpret the creative needs of a project quickly. I am also highly motivated and creative, able to keep myself and others motivated and focused when working autonomously.
My game industry experiences includes creating high and low poly models, animations and effects for PC and Wii games. These projects include Inition’s interactive stereoscopic race game ‘Gut Racer’ for Wii, Audi’s A-series photorealistic augmented reality game for PC, Eligard’s underwater face tracking game for PC, motion tracked character animations for the Photosound promotional games series and many other games and augmented reality projects.
