Reggae Roast are one of the most vibrant, new reggae collectives in the UK. Since 2007 they have played club shows at pretty much every major venue in the UK, performed at Glastonbury, Bestival, Outlook, Camp Bestival, SGP & Big Chill, hosted the prestigious room 3 take-over at Fabric and promoted over 100 sell-out shows in the capital. Captivating audiences with every performance, Reggae Roast have become renowned for their uplifting sets, playing everything from foundation roots to sub-heavy dubstep, hosted by either MC Ishu or Ramon Judah.
Following on from their guest show broadcast with David Rodigan on Kiss FM and with regular DJ bookings across Europe, Reggae Roast now enjoy a quarterly residency event at Plan B in South London. Their ever popular ‘Jamdown’ session continues to promote the strength of real roots music and provides for the growing demand for a conscious and good natured club night. Previous guests include; Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Sly & Robbie, Gappy Ranks, Finley Quaye, Mad Professor, Aba Shanti-I, Channel One Sound System, Iration Steppas and Adrian Sherwood to name a but a few.
Now on its 10th release, Reggae Roast Records has become one of the strongest new imprints, pushing modern roots alongside dubstep and jungle remixes on high quality vinyl and digital formats. The roster includes artists such as; Linval Thompson, Earl 16, Ghetto Priest, Manasseh & Kenny Knots, as well as remixes from the like of RSD, TMSV, Rack N Ruin, Mungo’s Hi Fi, Adam Prescott, Richie Phoe and Dark Arx.
With major support from the likes of David Rodigan on Kiss 100, heavy rotation on Rinse FM and plays on 1Xtra, RR Records are becoming a formidable British label.
