Regional Educational Laboratory Northeast and Islands (REL-NEI) is part of the nationwide network of RELs charged with helping states and districts systematically use data and analysis to answer important issues of education policy and practice with the goal of improving student outcomes. The REL Program is funded by the Institute of Education Sciences at the U.S. Department of Education.

REL-NEI serves New England, New York, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The region includes more than 5million students, 11,000 schools, and 2,600 districts, from small, rural settings to New York City.
