In 2010, a team of adventurers, photographers, writers, filmmakers and scientists dedicated to
‘Keeping Patagonia Wild’, started Rios Libres with the belief that rivers should remain wild and
free, that dams are an archaic technology and that cleaner and more economically sound
alternatives exist that would exceed Chile’s energy needs. We fight to protect the wild rivers of
Patagonia and the people who depend on them through film, photography and words. Our films
are inspiring people across the world to take action to preserve these rivers.
