Born in the Netherlands in 1988, he moved to Sydney, Australia in 1999. Robert completed his three year degree in performance at Wesley Institute (2011). He recently co-directed Matriark Art Theatre’s first full length play at the Sydney Fringe Festival, Alarum (2012). His 10 minute play The Whiskey Bar, a Western Musical, won him the People’s Choice Award at the Short and Sweet Festival 2012. Robert co-directed the short film Cain & Abel, which won ‘Best First Entry Award’ at the 2011 Ignite film festival. He has performed in many productions such as Romeo & Jeanette, The Bear, Merchant of Venice and Good Woman of Setzuan. Robert has also been in self produced work such as Commedia della Scorreggia (which is currently being toured to high schools in NSW) and his debut play at WIMA theatre A Romantic Death. Robert is one of the founders of Matriark Art Theatre.
