I'm a post-graduate student at the University of Sydney, undertaking a Master of Design Science (audio and acoustics) degree.
I had a very successful career in music production spanning 20+ years with a credit list that's like the who's who of Australian music from 1986 to 2010. I've worked at some of the biggest studios in Australia, including The Grove, Albert's, 48volt, Studios 301 and Flashpoint in varying roles, but primarily as chief engineer and in-house producer.
Somehow the spark that burnt so bright inside me faded. Maybe it was due to the music industry collapsing, maybe sick of spending most of my life stuck in dark studios.... most certainly sick to death of the music industry. But something definately had left me and most of all I think the challenge had gone. I needed to move on and I have.
After a decade of yearning to go back and study, I finally took the plunge this year (2011), packed up the studio and home on the Central Coast and moved back to Sydney.
I feel like I have found my new place in life and just love being back at University and being challenged by new ideas and concepts. My plan is to submit for a scholarship and continue on to a Phd.
I now consider myself a mad multi-media scientist! Art Vs Science... always the creative artist but now also the analytical scientist!
I hope you enjoy all my videos that are the result of my studies at the University of Sydney.
