Rodrigo Red Sandoval is a self-taught artist who was born in 1985 in the heart of Mexico City. He studied industrial design at Universidad Iberoamericana as well as Philosophy at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).
During his artistic career, Rodrigo has used a varied practice of installation, performance, painting, and digital arts to explore the ways in which affections, fears, emotions and thoughts are projected onto objects, body and space. These get loaded with new symbolic aspects; whereby somekind of meaning sets get established. Through these new symbols and meanings, an individual or a society transform their sense of how the world and identity is seen.
Art is about projected perceptions and it can´t really be about anything else... there isn´t anything else. Rodrigo´s biggest influences come from disciplines close to psychology, architecture and design.
