Russell Wayne Groves began his film & business career in 2002 while attending the University of Texas at Austin. Concurrent with classes, he took a position with Rodman Construction, a civil engineering construction firm. He was quickly promoted to Chief Estimator, where Russell helped secure and manage $250 million in civil construction projects over a span of 3 years. Although he was succeeding in the world of civil construction, his thirst and interest for film production lead him to “moonlight” behind the scenes on many different short films and video shorts.

In 2007, he formed the film production company Llessur Sevorg Productions which produced commercials and other film content. In addition to films and television pilots, Russell has produced both regional & national commercial spots, involving companies such as Best Buy and Dell. His film work has been recognized by the Seattle International Film Festival, Palm Springs International ShortsFest, Austin Film Festival, South by Southwest Film Festival and the Doorpost Film Project. In July 2010, he wrapped up production on the comedic feature film “Austin High” and is approaching different distributors.

Russell co-produced a 23-minute short film entitled “The Man Who Never Cried” that won the $100,000 grand prize & the $10,000 Audience Choice Award for the Doorpost Film Project in early 2011. In 2011, the filmmakers behind “The Man Who Never Cried” were approached by the Honourable Ralph Smyth to create and manage RALPH SMYTH ENTERTAINMENT, which is an entertainment film production company involving all four award-winning filmmakers: Andrew Lee, Russell Wayne Groves, Bradley Jackson, and David James Ward. Ralph Smyth Entertainment has many projects in different stages of development.

Russell is also producing a psychological thriller and a feature length documentary involving the British aristocracy slated for completion in 2012.
