Hey, I’m Ryland Haggis.
I’m a musician from Vancouver, BC.
I’ve worked mostly as an electric bass player, having performed on-stage and in-studio with a wide variety of artists and musical styles.

I started out as a drummer at age 10 in my dad’s bands playing songs by Neil Young and the Allman Brothers. I started playing bass in high-school and got into jazz and soul music. I played in blues bands and rock bands every weekend and never really stopped playing. The thing about bass-players is that there doesn’t seem to be that many around, so it’s easy to keep busy playing just about any kind of music you can think of with as many bands that’ll have you.

At the moment I’m playing with pop-country singer Jessie Farrell. Stay tuned here to find out about the tours and goings-on, or check her out at jessiefarrell.com.

Up to this point I’ve had the pleasure of performing with artists like Juno Award-winning jazz man Hugh Fraser, hip-hop ingénue Kia Kadiri, Stephen Franke, Rebecca Everett, and many others. In 2004 I completed a B.A. in Music from the University of British Columbia where I focused on Jazz, Latin American music, Film Music, and arranging/orchestration.

In addition to playing the bass I have written and produced music for short films and multimedia projects, and I’ve served as musical director/arranger in a number of live and studio projects. I love staying busy playing all different kinds of music, and I’m always up for working with talented artists and producers. Contact me at rylandhaggis.com if you have a project you would like me to be involved in.

I’ll be touring and playing gigs in Vancouver and beyond, so check back for updates from here and abroad!
