Santiago Salinas
With a BA in visual media in Mexico and documentary filmmaking studies in Ireland, Santiago worked for almost two years as a field producer for entertainment TV channel EXA TV. His documentary "Alena" earned him an official selection in Dublin's Oxegen Film Festival, and "Costa Sur" received a special aknowledgement from the International Congress of Ambientalists in Mexico City, as well as an official screening in Voces por el Silencio Film Festival. "Costa Sur" is more than a documentary, is an insight into the sea turttle's illegal egg trafficking and people involved in both sides of the story; the "heroes" protecting the eggs and the "villains" that have no other way to look after their families.
By request of the Chinese goverment, Santiago and Jorge Cervera Hauser produced and directed a short documentary about the pandas in Mexico's City Zoo. The short film is to be shown in a Film Festival sorrounding the 2008 Olympics.
Recently Santiago directed alongside Jorge Cervera Hauser a videoclip for indie's mexican rock band VOXX which is being produced by Leonardo de Lozanne and another one for a band called LOS MARTY.
Recently Santiago was the chief producer of the Glow!'s magazine TV show, which lifestyle and fashion content is being transmitted on the Discovery Networks' channel People & Arts.
