Sara Sun lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Her work is predominantly video/installation, digital image and drawing. Sara received her BA from the University of California, Los Angeles and her MFA from Massachusetts College of Art, Boston. She has exhibited nationally and internationally since the late 80's. Her most recent video and sound installation projects are Brooklyn Open Source Gallery in November, 2009 and a solo show at Sarah Lawrence College in Feb/Mar, 2009. Selected group shows and screenings in the past three years include Ende Tymes Sound Vision Screening, D-Block Gallery, L.A., CA, Central Connecticut State University, Brooklyn Fire Proof, the Pixilerations/FirstWorks New Media Festival in Providence, Rhode Island, W/G Gallery, the Rotunda Gallery, Front Room Gallery, Video Dumbo and 42nd International Film Festival screening at The Brooklyn Museum of Art. Sara received a digital art award in 1993 at the Fourth International Symposium on Electronic Art, Minn/St. Paul; 1994 at the 15th AIM Program-The Bronx Museum of the Arts; a 2001 awarded artist residency at the McColl Center, NC; the 2002 Annual Selection Exhibition at the Asian American Art Center, New York; a 2003 Honorary Fellowship at the Djerassi Residency, CA; and a 2004 awarded residency at the Ping-Tung Peninsula International Arts Festival and Residency in Taiwan. Her latest shows in September and October, 2011 were “Immersive Surfaces” during Dumbo Arts Festival, CologneOFF2011 and "Telematic Urban Mythos" at Westbeth, NYC.
