Sari Nordman is a New York -based dancer-choreographer. She has presented her work for Atlantic Center for the Arts, AUNTS, Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance!, Brooklyn Arts Exchange, Center for Performance Research, Columbia University, Danspace Project, Dixon Place, The Irondale Center and Movement Research at the Judson Church, among other venues in the US, and for Alpo Jaakola’s Sculpture Park, Dance Theater Hurjaruuth, Full Moon Dance Festival, Pop & Jazz Conservatory and Zodiak in Finland. She is a recipient of Brooklyn Arts Exchange Fall 2013 Space Grant. She is currently developing a full-evening dance work A Dadaesque Collage of Chauvinist Wisdom.
She has worked as a dancer with Dean Moss/Gametophyte, Inc. on several of his projects, and most recently performed in his and Laylah Ali’s work Voluntaries at the Museum of Modern Art. She has also worked as a dancer with Tymberly Canale, Douglas Dunn & Dancers, Naomi Goldberg Haas & Dances for a Variable Population, Vera Nevanlinna, Steve Paxton, Robin Rapoport, Susan Rethorst, Melinda Ring/Special Projects, Inc., among others and with visual artists Dana Bell and Ming Wong.
She holds an M.F.A. degree from NYU/Tisch Dance Department.
She has received funding from the American Scandinavian Foundation, American Scandinavian Society, Consulate General of Finland in New York and Finlandia Foundation New York Metropolitan Chapter to support her artistry.
