I'm currently writing music in hopes of creating a free album that people - our people- might help me build my donating money via Kickstarter.com. (The Green Music Project officially launches on Earth Day, April 22nd, 2011) But this isn't just another album recorded for kicks or in desperate hopes of making millions - quite the opposite. I plan to record my songs and document all of the energy we consume in the process and then offset the carbon footprint through various different means. I then want to tour the album in the same fashion, tracking our consumption and finding creative ways to offset it. Not only that but finding solutions along the way, through conversations in the Green Hearts Music Club, about what technologies and practices can help us create and tour the worlds first truly green album. Hopefully we can create a template for doing such that other artists can use as a guide and improve upon for years to come. Hopefully taking a closer intimate look at how the music business might create the things we use and enjoy can spread further across other industries, inspiring the leaders in those fields to examine their design from concept to product and what happens after the prod it leaves the plant. A Cradle to Cradle approach to creation is the only way to grow and build the future success of our species so that future generations might enjoy the wonders of this planet too.
