Hard work has never been a stranger to Micah Brown, a former two-sport athlete in both football and track at the University of Kansas. After dropping a track scholarship to walk on for football, he became the hero of the 2007 Orange Bowl team by catching a game-saving first down off a fake punt. The catch earned Micah a scholarship, and helped secure KU their first BCS Championship.
The same passion and uncompromising pursuit of excellence that Micah had on the football field carried over into his career.
After graduating with a degree in filmmaking, Micah went from making plays on the football field to editing movie trailers at The Refinery AV in Burbank, California.
After spending time in Hollywood, Micah’s love for sports called him back to Lawrence as he returned to his alma mater to produce an all-access web series for Kansas Football called The Gridiron. Over the next two seasons, The Gridiron would earn two Emmy Awards and break new ground in collegiate video productions. After working as a creative producer at Kansas Athletics, Micah decided to move on to his next challenge – launching the video production company Second Wind Creative.
Last season, Second Wind Creative produced award winning television shows for Michigan States football and basketball programs and developed Notre Dame’s Strong of Heart series that aired nationally on NBC Sports. Micah’s ability to translate stories from conception to the screen helped secure jobs with major college programs like Notre Dame, Michigan State, and Kansas, as well as networks like ESPN Films, NBC Sports, CBS Sports, Fox Sports, and Comcast.
