Camera Operator - Editor.
Serena Mancini was born in Vasto, Italy, in 1982. BA Communication Studies, University of Perugia 2008, thesis on Italian Neorealism: Rebuilding the Cinematic City (Urban Space and Representation). In 2005 she obtained a Multimedia Producer certification. In 2007 she attended a Camera Operator Workshop focused on shooting live performances of international artists (Patti Smith, Art Brut, Canadians, Verdena) and producing a music video for MTV. In 2008 she collaborated with a video production company as a camera operator/editor for a cabaret festival and a TV fiction. Since 2008 she worked for a satellite TV channel (SKY 886) as a camera operator and editor, three years of experience working on new TV formats, live events and news. She also freelanced for a multimedia company that produces DVDs of medical conferences and as a wedding videographer. She joined Kalifilm Productions in 2010 as a second unit/backstage camera operator/editor. First experience as a DoP in the Video-art piece "D.I.V.A.", premiered at New Media Film Festival 2011 Los Angeles, obtaining global distribution; in 2012 the video art piece has been screened at Bideodromo Festival Internacional de Cine y Video in Bilbao, WHO ART YOU? Artistic Contest AT DESIGN LIBRARY in Milan and TATE MODERN's new exhibition space, THE TANKS, in LONDON. Her portfolio also includes: music videos, a TV pilot, beauty showreels and a wedding promo. She shot several weddings in London, showreels, fashion show, etc. and edited company showreels. In 2012-2013 she has been freelancing as a Video Editor for TRT (Turkish Radio and Television Corporation) the national public broadcaster of Turkey, editing the TV Show Farklı Kültür Aynı Müzik (Different Culture Same Music) at Formidable.arts a London based tv production company.
