Having grown up in rural Minnesota, Director/Cameraman Shaun Conrad left for the big city and earned a bachelor’s degree with honors at the University of Illinois - Chicago. While in school, he explored the world of film making beyond the classroom by shooting live rock concerts and music videos. These projects led him to do music videos, national as well as international TV spots and promos.
In 1997, Shaun signed with Backyard productions as a commercial director. While with Backyard, Shaun shot and directed an Adweek Spot of the Month as well as won the 2000 Cannes Short List award. He also directed national spots for Vidal Sassoon, Ameritech, Nintendo 64, Kraft, Mervyn’s, Sears and others.
In 2000, Shaun relocated to Los Angles and joined Tate USA. In 2008 he joined bi-coastal SocketFilms for commercial representation. Shaun has helmed national campaigns for K-Swiss, Reebok, Earthlink, Lady Footlocker, Burger King, Hasbro, Pillsbury, Ore Ida and many more. Shaun has also directed many commercials internationally, including Mosow, Amserdam, Tel Aviv and Budapest.
In addition to his commercial work, Shaun co-directed the highly acclaimed feature documentary, Purvis of Overtown, with directing partner David Raccuglia. The film has won numerous film festival awards including Best In Show, Best Feature Documentary as well as Audience Awards.
