Originally hailing from Metro Detroit, Shawn graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in pre-veterinary medicine. Soon after being accepted to veterinary school in the Caribbean he was bitten by the elusive, and ever so persuasive, 'film bug'. In early 2004, he packed up and headed to Los Angeles, California to pursue a career in filmmaking. He studied at The Los Angeles Film School and has been working in the industry as a Director, DP, Gaffer and Editor ever since.

Narrative, documentary, music video and corporate work has taken this visual troubadour to LA, NYC, Miami and everywhere in betwixt. He has had the privilege of collaborating with the likes of Marlee Matlin, Greta Gerwig, Iggy Pop, Danny Glover, Evan Ross, Alan Rickman, Tom Sizemore, Bobby Cannavale, Kadeem Hardison, Nia Long, Andy Dick, Corey Haim and members of the Four Tops, among many others. Along the way, Shawn’s projects have screened at over 75 film festivals worldwide, been broadcast on numerous television networks and have received various distribution deals.
