ShAY* makes no mistakes in her lyricism, concerning herself with each individual word she chooses and steering clear of "the predictable" at all costs. Each line is carefully thought over with the intent to give the listener a new discovery no matter how many times they may have heard the song before. Any song written by the Jersey native is guaranteed to be timeless and personal. Fans also agree that in addition to her writing style, ShAY* has a unique voice that matches the soul of her lyrics.

When asked who she hopes to work with, ShAY* admits its not easy to narrow down. "I have such a huge array of artists and writers that have influenced me that it's difficult to choose a few. Some greats like Stevie Wonder, Marsha Ambrosius, and Janet come to mind."
