Sheron R. Dayoc is an Independent Director/ Writer/ Producer. An alumnus of Asian Film Academy in Pusan, Korea (Pusan International Film festival 2008) and NEXT Master Class of 2010 TOKYO Filmex. He is the first Filipino to be selected under the Script Lab of Sundance Institute. He has honed his craft by producing several documentaries which includes his Asian Pitch 2008 documentary (MediaCorp/NHK Japan) “ A Weaver's Tale ” which won him a Certificate of Creative Excellence from the U.S. International Film and Video Festival 2010.
HALAW (Ways of the Sea) is his first Feature length Film that won him a Special Mention, NETPAC at the 2011 Berlin International Film Festival, BEST FILM at the New York Hell’s Kitchen International Film Festival and a NETPAC Award at the 2011 Asian Pacific Screen Awards . The film traveled in Film Festivals across Europe, Asia, Australia and the US. The film also won best film, best director, best actor, and best editing at the 2010 Philippines’ Cinemalaya Independent Film festival, known as the "Sundance of the Philippines."
Sheron is currently working on his second film project “ Women of the Weeping River ”, a script project selected for the June 2011 Sundance Scrip Lab in Utah, USA and supported by Asian Cinema fund, Asian Project Market of 2011 Busan International Film Festival and the Hubert Bals Fund of Rotterdam International film Festival. The film project has been selected at the 2013 Sorfond Pitching Forum in Norway. It has recently received the production grant from the Hubert Bals Fund PLUS of the Netherland Film Fund.
He founded Southern Lantern Studios as a creative think tank and production company for multimedia short and long film and video content. The company is line producing a travel show for a cable channel which, will have its TV premiere this december.
Sheron is currently shooting a full length documentary "The Crescent Rising."
