A member of the NFT in 1968. Queued for two hours for an audience with Jean Luc Godard who was then late. Followed by a premier of one of his movies. Cannot remember which one. Possibly "Week End." Eric Rohmer died this week, (January 2010) reminding me of Claire's Knee (1970). then Jacques Rivette's, Céline and Julie Go Boating, (1974), got me going, and then Vim Wenders and Fassbinder, and Werner Herzog et al.

Tried to write film scripts, then a movie magazine, "Unmade Films", all while making a living designing convenience stores and gas stations. And not the tragic romantic Gulf Station type. featured in Bob Rafelson,s Five Easy Pieces.
