Shortfilm Festival Winterthur

The International Short Film Festival Winterthur is Switzerland’s largest short film festival. The festival takes place each year in November. It is a popular audience event and an important platform for European short films.

In 2007, over 11,000 spectators visited the festival and we received 2800 submissions for the national and international competitions, which offer cash awards that total 38,000 CHF (over 23,000 EURO). Since 2005 the festival is connected to the European submission platform reelport. Apart from innovative programming, the International Short Film Festival is committed to the sustainable promotion of short films, for example by maintaining the largest short film archive in Switzerland.
