The name Silkstone is born from the notion that there are two essential ingredients to the service industry - the stone which represents the hours of intensive labor and behind the scenes skill from the soil to the farm to the kitchen, and the silk which represents the service that the public sees - presenting the stone with an effortless, sexy elegance.
 
Silkstone was founded in October 2008 by Ben and Phil as an entrepreneurial collective for food, lifestyle, and design concepts. Currently these are executed through several projects that are all joined together with one binding philosophy - to be a catalyst for change, and to encourage our consumers/clients to be more sustainable with their lifestyle habits whilst being stylish and fun.

We are dedicated to delivering honest, rustic food to a stylish and modern table. We believe all ingredients have a story and it is the integrity of this story; the journey from farmer to plate that Silkstone aims to expose and celebrate.

Silkstone and has quickly become a voice for change in the New York culinary scene for the way food is served, created, and sourced. All events are produced, where possible, in an environmentally friendly and responsible way. By sourcing the finest seasonal and heritage produce from specialist farms, Silkstone aims to that define the mantra ‘you are what you eat.’ It is the Silkstone frame of thought that the choices we make through food has a far greater impact than the plate that is put before us.
