Dedicated as a Conservative congregation in 1908 and then serving as an African Methodist Episcopal Church for the latter part of the 20th century, today Sixth & I is a non-denominational, non-membership, non-traditional synagogue offering a fluid blueprint for Jewish communal engagement in a warm, non-judgmental environment.
