Haunting. Dynamic. Memorable Melodies. Energetic. Asian frontwoman with Patsy Cline's voice and Dave Mustaine's attitude.

Soul Distraction's founding members, Marty Mitchell and Elsa Faith came from two different countries, at least 15000 miles apart yet they blended their voices and musical skills as if they had grown up together.

Singaporean born and raised, Elsa Faith is heavily influenced by artists such as The Cranberries, Jewel, Nelly Furtado and even evergreen singers like Patsy Cline and Karen Carpenter. Her cool, raspy vocals will remind us of the sweetness of Celine Dion and with the energy and soulfulness of Janis Joplin.

Marty Mitchell's musical career began in his late teens, playing in Japan for US Soldiers. This sparked the desire to use his talents to create music that actually brings comfort. His guitar playing skills are as if they were molded by Keith Richards (The Rolling Stones) & Neil Diamond. It is also a plus that he has a voice like Dan Murphy (Soul Asylum).

Barely two years old, Soul Distraction have toured since 2006, opening up for national acts such as Genitorturers, Mankind Is Obsolete and international artist, Mortiis and have traveled the west coast region.

They also self-released their debut full length, The Truth Pill in June 2007 and in May of 2008, they released an all acoustic EP entitled Bare Bones.

It is getting substantial radio airplay on college stations, internet stations and was also played in Singapore’s top radio station, 98.7 FM. Elsa Faith is even featured in a two full page write up in Singapore's second most read paper, The New Paper.

With their West Coast Spring/Summer Tour which ended in August 2008, Soul Distraction is currently recording their next full length album with new guitarist, Perry Witt. With this addition, Soul Distraction will deliver a revolutionary sound that is crucial in today's music industry.
