The Southeast Alaska Avalanche Center is a Juneau based non-profit organization with a mission to promote mountain safety through avalanche education, forecasting, and rescue training. The Southeast Alaska Avalanche Center works with board representatives from the Eaglecrest Ski Area, Alaska Powder Descents, The AEL&P Avalanche Program, The Coeur Alaska Avalanche Program, The State of Alaska Department of Transportation, The National Weather Service, The Juneau Avalanche Forecast, Capital City Fire and Rescue and Juneau Mountain Rescue to support community based avalanche programs. Founded in the late 1990's by Alaska Avalanche Specialists owner, avalanche forecaster and researcher, Bill Glude, the Southeast Alaska Avalanche Center represents the interests of the Southeast Alaska snow community.
