Melissa Ciampa is a creative powerhouse whose production portfolio spans music videos, commercials, television, and film for some of the biggest brands and names in entertainment. A few of the numerous artists Melissa has worked with include Rihanna, Britney Spears, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Flo Rida, Pink, Nas, and Coldplay. Most recently, Melissa produced music videos “TouchNyou” by Rick Ross feat. Usher, “We Are Young” by Fun feat. Janelle Monáe, and multiple videos for LMFAO including their “Sexy and I Know It” smash which won the 2012 MuchMusic Video Award for Best International Video of the Year. Melissa’s expansive résumé also includes commercials for McDonalds, Activision, Mennen, and Bud Light, as well as numerous TV pilots for companies such as Mun2/Universal, UPN, and ESPN 2.
Melissa’s impressive career trajectory began as an executive assistant to Tracy Edmonds at Yab-Yum (now Edmonds Entertainment), followed by a position in artist management at Queen Latifah’s company, Flava Unit West. Her next achievement was serving as Executive Producer on Monifah’s album “Mo’hogany” --- a million-dollar budget project that soared to gold status. Melissa was then hired to produce commercial projects for MasterCard, Ikea, Jaclyn Smith, and the billion-dollar Kathy Ireland brand. Melissa also expanded her talents to features, producing several projects including the multi-million dollar film “Max Havoc: Curse of the Dragon” shot in Guam.
Recognized for her outstanding leadership ability, Melissa was hired as the General Manager for Tycoon Entertainment. Next came a request from a fledgling Santa Monica based production company to “get them on their feet.” Melissa met the challenge by turning them into to a flourishing full-service production company in just six months.
Melissa recently mobilized her creative energies into the formation of her own full-service production company, Spittn Image. Intent on representing fresh, cutting edge directors and delivering innovative content across all media platforms, Spittn Image is off to an excellent start. Some of the projects the company has already delivered include music videos for Robin Thicke, Dada Life, Jon B., and Temara Melek, as well as two national PSA’s for Partnership For A Drug-Free America and a commercial for RIM Blackberry. Spittin Image also produced the award winning short film “John Doe”, which took home the 2012 prize for Best Diaspora from the Pan African Film Festival affiliated AMAA Awards, as well as two 2011 Holly Shorts Awards for Audience Choice and Best Short Film shot in Los Angeles.
