Steiger International is dedicated to reaching and discipling the darkest corners of society with the love of Jesus.

Steiger, the Dutch word meaning "pier", refers to the location of the barge where David & Jodi Pierce started a bible study which eventually grew into a church reaching the punks and the anarchists in Amsterdam in the early 1980s.

It was in Amsterdam that David started a band called "No Longer Music" (NLM) that used the stage to communicate the Gospel of Jesus to thousands of young people who would never step foot into a church. Since then, No Longer Music has taken the message of Jesus to some of “the darkest corners of society”, including closed Islamic countries, terrorist clubs, squatter villages, anarchy festivals, brothels, junkie joints, punk & goth music festivals, Satanist clubs and New Age gatherings.

No Longer Music has acted as a pioneer by going into these previously unreached or difficult to reach places and served as a catalyst for the creation of new ministries, churches and a wave of people passionate about bringing the love of Jesus to the darkest corners of society.

Over time, this network of ministries and missionaries grew into a mission organization called “Steiger International”. Today, the Steiger International network has grown ministries, missionaries and volunteers operating on 5 continents around the world.

Steiger shares God's broken heart for the lost youth of the world: the 17-30 year olds, who are being destroyed by the world's lies, and would never be reached by traditional methods. This global youth culture spans the globe, and is held together by common values, symbols, and legends pushed upon them by the entertainment industry, pop culture, and economic strategies that prey upon them. This, combined with a breakdown in family structure and values, has driven millions of adolescents and young adults to anger, despair, and hopelessness.

This emerging generation - approximately 1 billion people – makes up the largest un-reached people group in the world. In many ways, the Church has become culturally distant, and seemingly irrelevant to their lives. They have a false idea of who Jesus is. They are searching for meaning and purpose, but they are unlikely to look to the Church to find it.
