Stephen Graves was born in Yorkshire and grew up just outside London. After graduating from the University of Exeter with a History degree he studied for an MA in Film Studies at University College Dublin.
Since graduation he has been involved in a number of short and feature film productions. In 2005 Stephen produced and directed a documentary short, 'Graffiti', for a clothing brand and he has since written and directed the micro shorts 'Blind Faith' and 'Baby Steps'.
Stephen currently works as a journalist and freelance writer, and has contributed articles about music, television and film to a range of magazines, including Stuff, Film Review, SFX, Classic Rock and Starburst. During his studies he completed a thesis, under the supervision of Dr Harvey O'Brien, examining the comic-book aesthetic in Hollywood cinema.
His first narrative short film, 'A Stitch In Time', was written in 2007, and has been produced by Kaleidos Productions with support from Film London through the Westminster Arts bursary scheme.
