Stephanie Martinez is a multi-cultural journalist in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Currently, she’s pursuing a Masters of Professional Studies in Journalism focused on investigation at the University of Maryland, College Park. She is also a graduate assistant at the university’s video production office (part of the University Relations Department).
At the same time, she’s working on a long-format documentary called UNCENSORED about the dangers journalists file while working from conflict-torn territories such as the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. For more info about UNCENSORED please visit the website.
Stephanie currently writes for Telemundo Washington and worked, for over two years, as a freelance reporter covering top stories ranging from controversial immigration issues to heated political topics brewing out of Capitol Hill. She has also filed stories with Univision and Connection Newspapers.
Stephanie was born in Colombia and holds a Bachelor’s in Marketing and a minor in Electronic Journalism from George Mason University. She also attended the New York Film Academy for a Broadcast Journalism workshop. Stephanie is also pursuing a Certificate in Documentary Studies at Duke University.
